Major and two Sergeants among others arrested over murder of Lasantha and attacks on Noyahr and Tennekoon !

group including an army Major and two sergeants were arrested
today(18) in the early hours of the morning , in connection with the
ghastly cold blooded murder of editor Lasantha Wickremetunge , attack
on journalists Keith Noyahr and Upali Tennekoon . These suspects were
the White Van criminal team who held sway during the nefarious decade of
the Rajapakses while engaging in attacks and killings of journalists .
Bulatwatte
is the name of the major arrested. During the investigations into the
attack on Keith Noyahr by the special CID team , information regarding
these suspects surfaced , and subsequently it came to light these
suspects as a group have been involved in the other media killings and
attacks too.
The group including the major and sergeants
after being produced before Mt. Lavinia magistrate this noon (18) were
ordered to be remanded until the 23 rd.
